Car detailing prices Gold Coast businesses charge vary widely, from a quick exterior refresh at around $145 to a full inside and outside detail close to $500, and well beyond that for paint correction or ceramic coating. At Preema, every package has a published starting price, so you know the ballpark before you pick up the phone.

The final figure depends on your vehicle's size and condition, and we confirm it before any work starts. Below you'll find every package with its price and time on the job, the things that move a quote, and how to weigh one detailer's offer against another. Our Gold Coast car detailing page has the full breakdown of what each tier covers.

Exterior detailing prices

Exterior packages suit cars that are tidy inside but carrying salt film, road grime or bug splatter outside. Every exterior tier starts with a snow foam pre-wash and a careful hand wash, which lifts loose grit before a mitt touches the paint. Higher tiers add iron decontamination to dissolve the embedded metal particles that make paint feel rough.

  • Mini Detail, from $145, roughly 1 to 2 hours
  • Exterior Emerald, from $245, about 2 to 2.5 hours
  • Exterior Diamond, from $345, about 2.5 to 3 hours

If you park near the beach or under a carport close to the water, the extra decontamination in the upper tiers is usually worth it. Salt and fallout bond to the clear coat over time, and a standard wash leaves them behind. The exterior-only packages page lists what each tier includes.

Interior detailing prices

Inside, the work covers vacuuming, steam cleaning, leather care and stain treatment. The difference between tiers is mostly time, and time is what lets a detailer get into seat rails, door pockets, air vents and the boot rather than just the obvious surfaces.

  • Interior Emerald, from $195, approximately 2 hours
  • Interior Diamond, from $245, approximately 3 to 4 hours

Family cars that do school runs and weekend sport, or anything that regularly carries wet towels and sandy feet, tend to need the longer Diamond service. A commuter car that is mostly dusty is often fine with Emerald. The interior-only page sets out the inclusions.

Full inside and out packages

Combined packages are the most popular choice because they cost less than booking an interior and an exterior separately. They also mean the whole car is done in one visit, at your home or workplace.

  • Sapphire, from $245, 2 to 3 hours
  • Emerald, from $325, 3 to 4 hours
  • Diamond, from $395, 4 to 5 hours
  • Signature, from $495, 5 to 6 hours

Sapphire is a solid maintenance clean for a car that is looked after regularly. Signature is the most thorough package and suits a car that has gone a long while between details, or one you want looking its best for a special occasion. Each tier is explained on the interior and exterior page.

Pre-sale, paint correction and ceramic coating

Pre-sale detailing

Selling a car? Pre-Sale Diamond starts at $395 (4 to 5 hours) and Pre-Sale Signature at $495 (5 to 6 hours). Both include 40+ professional photos for your listing, which saves you trying to get decent shots in harsh Queensland light. More on the pre-sale detailing page.

Paint correction

Paint correction is priced by quote because no two cars have the same paint. We measure paint depth first, then recommend single-stage enhancement for light swirls, two-stage correction for moderate swirls and scratches, or three-stage correction for heavily marked paint.

Ceramic coating

Our Gtechniq coatings come with 5 year protection. Interior coating starts at $495, Diamond exterior at $1,095 and Signature interior and exterior at $1,295. Exterior packages include 1 to 3 stages of paint correction depending on whether the car is new or second-hand, and you receive Australian-made aftercare products free. A second layer of Gtechniq CSL is an optional $400 extra.

What moves a detailing quote up or down

A published price is a starting point. Two cars booked into the same package can take very different amounts of time, and an honest quote reflects that. These are the main factors:

  • Vehicle size. A seven-seat SUV or dual cab ute has more paint, more glass and more carpet than a small hatch.
  • Condition. Heavy sand in the carpet, mould spots, pet hair or long-neglected paint all add time.
  • Stains and spills. Old coffee, sunscreen marks on upholstery and kids' drinks need extra treatment.
  • Paint defects. Swirls and scratches only come out with correction, which is a separate service.
  • Coastal build-up. Cars parked near the ocean often carry more salt film and fallout on paint, wheels and glass.

We confirm the final price before starting, so there is no surprise at the end. If a car needs more than the package allows for, we tell you and let you decide.

How to compare car detailing prices Gold Coast wide

The cheapest quote is not always the best value, and the dearest is not always the most thorough. A useful comparison looks at what is actually done to the car, not just the number at the bottom. Ask each detailer:

  • How is the car washed? A snow foam pre-wash and hand wash is far gentler on paint than brushes or a single bucket.
  • Is decontamination included, or is it a wash and wipe?
  • Does the interior price include steam cleaning and stain treatment, or vacuuming only?
  • How long will the job take? A full detail done in an hour is unlikely to be thorough.
  • Is there a call-out fee on top of the quoted price?
  • What products are used, and are they professional grade?

Preema charges no call-out fee anywhere from Coolangatta to Ormeau, uses professional-grade, environmentally friendly products and quotes for free. Our 277+ five-star Google reviews give you a fair sense of how customers feel about the value.

Choosing the right package for your budget

If you're unsure where to start, match the package to the state of the car rather than to the price alone. As a rough guide:

  • Clean inside, just needs a freshen up outside: Mini Detail or Exterior Emerald
  • Tidy outside but sandy or stained inside: Interior Emerald or Interior Diamond
  • Regularly maintained and due for both: Sapphire
  • Busy family car or one overdue for a clean: Emerald or Diamond inside and out
  • Long-neglected, or being prepared for a special occasion: Signature
  • Going on the market soon: Pre-Sale Diamond or Pre-Sale Signature, with listing photos

We're happy to recommend a package when you request a quote. Describe the car honestly, including any pet hair, stains or smells, and the price we confirm will match the work.

Getting the most out of what you spend

A few habits stretch the value of a professional detail. Rinse salt and sand off the car after beach trips rather than leaving them to sit. Use shade or a car cover where you can, because strong UV is hard on paint, plastics and leather alike.

Booking regularly also keeps costs down. A car detailed every few months stays in good enough shape for a lighter package, while one left for a year usually needs the most time-intensive service.
